WRITE YOUR NOVEL
Got a plot outline? Maybe even a few chapters? Let Reece help you turn your ideas into a first draft.
Or maybe you’ve already written (and rewritten… and rewritten) your middle-grade novel? Perhaps you’re ready to approach agents or even – gasp! – editors? Let’s map out a plan to get your story in front of the right people.
Reece can’t guarantee publication. But with Australian, UK and US deals under his belt, plus a good number in translation markets, he can help you navigate the mysteries of the publishing world.
You’ve finished your draft – now what? Editing is tricky, but it’s also where the magic happens.
A manuscript assessment is a full review of your middle-grade novel’s structure, plot, characters and pacing. It equips you with the tools you’ll need to confidently tackle your next draft. You’ll receive a comprehensive written report and a 60-minute follow-up call with Reece, to review the report and ask any extra burning questions.
Please note: manuscripts longer than 50,000 words incur an additional charge of $15 per 1000 words.

About REECE
Reece’s debut novel, A Girl Called Corpse, was not the first book he’d ever written. That honour goes to a very thinly veiled Chronicles of Narnia retelling. It was not very good.
Thankfully, his second manuscript was a little better. The third, better still. It was his fourth, though, that caught the interest of publishers.
A Girl Called Corpse hit shelves in 2022, and two sequels followed in 2023 and 2025.
The first installment in Reece’s new series for middle-grade readers, Nightmare League, will be published by Penguin Random House in Australia and New Zealand in November 2026, and in North America in 2027.
Having navigated those early, rejection-filled years as an aspiring author, Reece is passionate about helping new writers for children become the very best they can be.
Writing ability is not something that is set in stone; it can be learned. Talent is less important than determination. These are the philosophies that guide Reece when advising new writers.
